J. L. Sherman and Associates offers new releases of our software on a regular quarterly basis, targeting the early part of January, April, July, and October. Occasionally, a partner will request new functionality to be delivered as quickly as possible between quarterly releases. In these situations, we then bundle the requested new functionality with already completed development work into an interim release. Here are some of the latest additions delivered last month in interim release 2010-01-1.

You May Notice a Few Changes...

Submitted 2010-02-19 12:10:00 -0800

The SCEX is loan calculation software that can be embedded within your own
application, supporting consumer, commercial, and mortgage loan
calculations. Welcome to J. L. Sherman and Associates’ new web site! The new architecture underlying our site will allow us to provide our customers and partners a more efficient way to interact with us, while still providing the information necessary for prospective customers to find out what it is exactly that we do.

We are also introducing our new company logo, which is next to our name at the top of each page on our website, and is featured prominently in our introduction. Many logos relate to a company’s name or products, and our logo is joining that crowded group. The Giant Sequoia is unique to Calfornia, our home state, and is known by all to be the largest tree, as well as a truly magnificent and long lived entity – characteristics to which Sherman & Associates aspires. The largest of all is the General Sherman tree, in Sequoia National Park. Our company principals, John and Judy Sherman, travel frequently to the park to pay homage.

Enhancements start with the SCEX and then flow into WinLoan-32 and eWinLoan as we adapt their user interfaces to accept the changes. Most enhancements are subtle and unnoticed by all but a few, but every so often, we make an enhancement that moves the SCEX significantly forward. Our new Commercial Loan module is such an enhancement.

New Menu Selling Features

Submitted 2009-02-10 14:00:00 -0800

WinLoan-32 is our loan calculation and quotation software for the Windows desktop, supporting consumer, commercial, and mortgage loans. Sherman’s WinLoan-32 loan quotation software, already recognized as the best sales tool for increasing payment protection (credit insurance/debt protection) income, is constantly enriched by our clients’ great ideas. Our two newest innovations are perfect examples of this relationship.

A major frustration among payment protection managers has been the tendency of some loan officers to simply request a payment without protection. We now offer a setup file option to make the menu screen mandatory. Clicking [Calculate] takes you directly to the Menu Screen, with all the protection plans presented, and the no protection plan at the bottom. The Entry Screen for this setup option is below:
