Swell is a' Dropping Surf Report

Monday saw a large South swell hit our beaches. Driving into work that morning, I nearly choked on the sight of spitting barrels at a local spot which picks up Souths particularly well. The breeze was blowing offshore, and I held my hopes up for the lunch break surf. Unfortunately, about 30 minutes before I went out, the wind started howling onshore, knocking the waves down and churning up the chop. What an amazing bummer!

Today, the conditions were cleaner, however the swell is dropping quickly. Looking at the forecasts, it doesn't appear as if we'll be seeing anything of significant size for the remainder of the week, so maybe you should plan on taking out your small wave board over the next few days. And with all the wind we've had, the water temperature has dropped a few degrees to the 69-70 range, I'd guess. Still trunkable, but noticably cooler than the weekend.
