Spam Illegal in California as of Jan. 1, 2004!

Unbelievable (in a good way)! According to This NY Times article, as of 1/1/2004, spamming will be illegal in California. The law would fine spammers $1,000 for each unsolicited email, up to a maximum of one million dollars for each campaign. I wonder if individuals will be the recipients of this money, or if this is a way for Governor Davis to create new income streams for our ineptly managed government?

Tuesday Afternoon Surf Report

One almost-word: Brrrrrrrrrr! Man did it get cold over the space of 24 hours. The water must have dropped around 5 or 6 degrees, and my hands and feet were cold even though I was in my spring suit. As for the waves, they were pretty mixed up and breaking real shallow, so rides were typically short and closed out.
