Monday Afternoon Surf Report

On the drive into work this morning, I took the coastal route and was surprised to see some very nice sized waves breaking along the coast, and was extremely hopeful for the lunch break surf session today. The waves have been pretty much miserable this summer, with the exception of one standout week where the waves were extremely fun. It has been a barren surf-wasteland the last few weeks, and if you look in a surfer's eyes, you'll see it.

So it was with much hope that we made our way down to D street, and oh how quickly those hopes were crushed. The southern swell had backed down, and the wind had kicked up, making for a choppy session. I caught a few good sized waves, but most just closed out. And the water is still mud brown from the red tide we have been experiencing the last couple of days. *sigh*
