Loan Counselor FAQ

  1. What are the setup files?
  2. What is a Sentinel Pro?
  3. Why is my computer unable to detect the Sentinel Pro?
  4. What is a zip file and how do I unzip it?

  1. What are the setup files?

The setup files allow you to customize the software to match your financial institution and credit insurance company's guidelines. Our Technical Sales Support staff can help you with the setups. Also, please remember that the setup files are password protected.

  2. What is a Sentinel Pro?

The sentinel is a copyright protection device that should be placed in the printer port on your PC. The printer cable can be plugged directly into the sentinel. Without the sentinel, the WinLoan software will not work.

  3. Why is my computer unable to detect the Sentinel Pro?

If you experience problems with the Loan Counselor not being able to find the sentinel pro key, it may be due to some of the newer bi-directional printers. To remedy this situation, download and install the sentinel installation program. The on-screen instructions will guide you through the process.
If you need assistance or have questions, please call Technical Support at (800)776-6651.

  4. What is a zip file and how do I unzip it?

A zip file is a single file that contains a compressed library of one or more files. To unzip the zip file, you need a program (such as WinZip or PKUnzip), to open and extract the files that have been archived. You can download an evaluation version of WinZip from the Nico Mak Computing, Inc. WinZip home page.
