The Sherman Calculation Engine with XML Interface

Prior to WinLoan32 (our 32-bit Windows based loan quotation software) several of our customers were interested in having access to the calculation routines contained in our Windows software. Due to previous design decisions, this was not possible. With WinLoan-32, however, the powerful calculation engine that is the foundation of our loan quotation software is now available as a stand-alone product. We call it the Sherman Calculation Engine with XML interface, or just SCEX.

The SCEX is a set of 32 bit dynamic link libraries (DLL's) for the Windows environment. Loan and insurance setup information is stored in ASCII text files that are created and maintained by Sherman's technical support team. Depending upon the level of support you are seeking, we can handle all of the steps in setting up a new account for you, gathering samples from the client and insurance companies, and thoroughly testing to ensure that the final calculation results match what the client is expecting.

The SCEX is compatible with almost any Windows development environment which allows accessing a function from a DLL. Furthermore, the SCEX comes with documentation and sample code illustrating how to access the SCEX directly from five different programming languages: Delphi, Visual C++, C#, vb.net, and Java.

The SCEX has recently been expanded to include the SCEX Loan Server. The SCEX Loan Server allows client applications to access the power of the SCEX, even if the client application resides on a platform other than Windows. For example, a Linux web application can communicate with the SCEX Loan Server via TCP/IP and an XML interface. Custom Calculation Engines

What if your application and the SCEX do not seem to be a good fit, perhaps due to the need for a non-Windows based client hosted calculation engine? Sherman and Associates can provide you with a custom calculation engine, written specifically for you and your needs in the programming language of your choice, such as: C, C#, C++, Delphi, Java, or Python.

For example, consider these past custom calculation engines written to fulfill a client's needs precisely:

Sherman provided a Java servlet to GE Mortgage Services to calculate loans on the Internet.
A calculation engine, written in C, was delivered by Sherman's programming team to a large financial institution to be employed in all their business applications/channels to perform loan calculations with credit insurance/debt protection in all 50 states.
A custom engine created for Collegiate Funding Services was recently delivered, featuring student loan calculations tailored to their exact specifications.
